All the items you can see here are handmade from driftwood and marine debris found on the beaches and in the bays of the island of Hvar. The most beautiful part of the year on the island of Hvar, when I prefer to collect marine debris, is late autumn and early spring. That is when the beaches and bays of the island of Hvar are deserted and you can walk as long as you like. The whole process of making objects takes place in a small creative studio in Zagreb where I live and work most of the year.
The uniqueness of the objects made from driftwood lies in the fact that each is hand-crafted and handmade and no two works of art are identical. The only rule I follow in my work is that there are no rules. Relaxation, peace and imagination at will.
My name is Andreja Zajec and this is my story, inspired by the sea and translated into works that I hope will evoke beautiful memories, decorate your space or simply brighten your day, as they did to me while I was creating them.
